The construction of the Canal du Midi made many changes to the landscape of the town, with mills and buildings sprouting out of the landscape. We had a fantastic canal boat vacation with Le Boat. The team was responsive and accommodating, even adjusting our route and upgrading our boat when necessary. I remember when we first booked a canal boat holiday we were very suspicious and waiting for something to go wrong. It took us a long time to decide which company to use.We booked our first canal boat holiday with Le Boat in 2018 and everything went perfectly.Our second Le Boat canal booking May 2024, we booked and arranged everything from Australia with Le Boat Decize.Communication was excellent and everything was arranged even better than our first canal booking! We are very grateful in particular to Madame Frederique. Merci!We are looking forward to arranging another Le Boat holiday in the future.

\"Le Boat\" rental point; we had an excellent experience here.Friendly, relaxed pace, efficient short training on boat handling. Good assistance before and during navigation.From this base, three possibilities: Canal lateral à la Loire (upstream or downstream) and Nivernais Canal.The Nivernais Canal from Decize to Tannay offers a very rural environment (few and small centers to visit) and with many locks (about 70, first uphill then downhill) and also three long tunnels and several lift bridges.If you rent, consider carefully the boat experience you want; we liked the rustic/old-times style of our \"standard boat\" (Countess), but many may prefer the modern ones.

A wonderful trip! The staff at Le Boat were very friendly, helpful, welcoming and professional. A good review of the boat and the functions before we left made us feel at ease and we could enjoy the trip to the fullest. The boat was easy to navigate and had a good layout. The maps we were given were clear and understandable , so there were no problem finding spots, where we could buy groceries, fill up water, electricity etc. It was a very beautiful route and we could stop almost anywhere we wanted and enjoy meals and sleep at night.Good advice: Use the local bakers and butchers and enjoy a good tapas with the wonderful wine from the area - it just tastes SOO much better than from supermarkets.Thanks you Le Boat Decize!!!!! ❤
