What a lovely holiday! Highly recommend this trip. It is both relaxing yet an adventure, a challenge, and an opportunity to relax. Great for a couple, or a group of friends. Don't be worried if you don't know how to drive, it is easier than it looks! :)
Fantastic experience with heritage narrow boats. Hired for a week with absolutely no issues or hassle. Very friendly knowledgeable people. Simple quick and easy process to get onboard and away on our trip.
Rented a narrowboat for a lovely winter holiday with my partner. Had an absolutely amazing time. There was a small issue with a minor water leak which we didn't notice until the end of our second day. An engineer came out to meet us and quickly found the issue, unfortunately didn't have the tools on him to repair there and then but this did not affect our holiday at all. Very reasonable priced, especially for a time of the year where most hire companies probably bleed money quicker than they can make it. Thanks to everyone at Heritage for an amazing holiday
Would not recommend this place. Hired a boat for a day and was okay until the afternoon where black smoke plumed out the engine bay and then stalled. After a few attempts of trying start it we called the company who sent a guy out who confirmed a water tank had not been filled up which caused the engine to over heat. They're refusing to return the deposit saying we broke it although they admitted the water tank was empty when should of been full. The engine showed signs of poor maintenance visually as it was covered in oil and electrical cables and pipe work insecure
We hired for 7 nights with three adults and two dogs. The boat was pristine upon collection, the bedding supplied was spotless and everything on the boat worked well. We were given a thorough run thro of locks, mooring up, driving and the general \"do's and don'ts\" on the canal before we set off. Before going we had researched our own route using canalplan.uk which was incredibly informative.Remember to take cigarette lighter/car style plugs for phone charging etc. as there's no three pin plugs.
